a lot of years ago, some man sang the moon down. that's what my granddaddy's daddy told him. what my daddy told me. and so on and so forth up the family tree. he says it's what every man who cares about truth tells his kids is what he said. so i know it's right. a man got a song in him a long time back, pitted the moon like an apple, sunk it into the stone jungle. sunk the world too. into black for a long time. sank it slow and certain, and so deep we still haven't hit the bottom. we gotta hit bottom. before we can climb out, we've gotta land. and here we are falling. that's alright though. that's ok though. i know we'll land. falling is just a step to landing. that's what he said. and when you lost your wings, landing's the best thing for it.
